Plane Crash in Mexico

A MEXICAN GOVERNMENT-OWNED LEARJET CRASHED onto a Mexico City street filled with rush hour traffic Tuesday evening. Among the eight people on board was the nation’s Interior Minister Juan Camilo MouriƱo, 37. The crash set dozens of cars on fire and led to the evacuation of several nearby buildings. The plane was approaching the airport when eyewitnesses say that it suddenly took a nose dive right into the crowded street.

The latest report shows 13 deaths so far, including the eight on the plane, and more than 40 people were injured. Sr. Mourino was a key figure in the government’s ongoing fight against strong drug cartels that are terrorizing many parts of the country.
