A CAPITAL DISTRICT AMBULANCE IN ALBANY, NEW YORK, was involved in a six-vehicle crash early Sunday morning that left the ambulance on its side.
The rescue unit was traveling with lights and siren activated around 2:30 am when a car, trying to beat the red light, came speeding through the intersection and plowed into the ambulance. The ambulance was pitched into a Jeep that was waiting at the traffic signal, then rolled onto its side and both vehicles then struck 3 parked cars.
The drivers of the ambulance and offending car both had minor injuries. Police cited the car’s driver for failure to yield to an emergency vehicle.
