Lieutenant Morrison passed away while in quarters from a cause still to be determined. During his shift, Morrison had responded to several emergency response calls. After fellow firefighters discovered him unconscious in the firehouse and immediately rendered aid, Morrison was transported to the hospital where he succumbed to his injury.
